An accessible archive preserving the previous SDSUG website for historical reference, continuity, and organizational transparency.
SDSUG Archive Document — Document No. 1 (2026)
Prepared by: Hunter Storm (https://hunterstorm.com), President, SDSUG
Version 1.0 — February 7, 2026
Preserving the SDSUG History
For more than two decades, SDSUG operated on a classic HTML website with a single page that reflected the tools, design, and character of its era. That site supported the group through countless events, meetings, announcements, and community connections, and it remains an important part of our history.
As SDSUG updates its digital infrastructure, we’ve preserved screenshots of the previous website as a historical reference. This archive honors the group’s long-standing roots and the volunteers who maintained the site over the years.
SDSUG Logo Evolution
SDSUG’s visual identity has evolved over time as the community modernized its website, governance structure, and public presence. The legacy logo served the group for many years and reflects the early era of the organization. The updated logo represents SDSUG’s current identity as a practitioner‑driven, safety‑aligned, and community‑governed cybersecurity group.
Below is a side‑by‑side comparison of the legacy logo, the interim modernized version, and the current version.

The transition from the legacy logo to an interim rendition of the original logo to the modern design reflects SDSUG’s ongoing commitment to clarity, accessibility, and professional stewardship. While the legacy logo remains part of the group’s history, the updated mark represents the organization’s current mission and identity.
Why We Preserve the SDSUG Website Versions
The previous SDSUG website represents:
- the early days of the Phoenix security community
- the long-term stewardship of our founder that kept the group active
- the continuity that defines SDSUG’s culture
- the evolution of the group’s digital presence
This archive is not a replacement for the past — it’s a way to acknowledge and respect it.
Archived Screenshots
Below are screenshots of the previous SDSUG website, captured before the 2026 modernization and transformation by President Hunter Storm. These images reflect the structure and style that served the group for many years.
Welcome Back to Our Technical Steward
The previous version of the SDSUG website shown below was originally built by David Garretson, who served as Webmaster from 2013–2016. We are pleased to welcome him back in his new role as Technical Steward (Infrastructure and Continuity), where his historical familiarity with SDSUG’s digital roots now supports the maintenance and stability of our modern platform.
